The first two varieties consist of a staple cartridge, an anvil, and a drive mechanism. The third variety consists of a staple cartridge and a drive mechanism. The drive mechanism in all three varieties is designed to drive and clinch surgical staples into tissues when actuated by the surgical stapler. All three varieties are preloaded with surgical staples. Use of this item is limited to thoracic-abdominal, intraluminal, or gastrointestinal surgical procedures.
