Compostable. These bags are treated w/a/cornstarch additive to speed up their degradation in compost piles. They are intended to hold foodwaste, grass clippings, leaves, and other plant and animal material for disposal by composting. When disposed of in landfills, these bags offer no significant advantage environmentally, over other plastic bags since the degradation additive is usually not effective in landfill conditions
