Properties:

A fiber optic fitting with or without contact(s) constructed to be affixed to the end of a fiber optic cable for convenience in joining with another fiber optic connector(s), and is not designed to be mounted on a bulkhead, chassis, or panel. It may or may not include facilities for holding a device, such as a semiconductor, but does not include the device itself. Excludes connector, plug, electrical; plug, tip; dummy plug, telephone; dummy connector, plug; insert, electrical connector; socket, plug-in electronic components; jack assembly, tip; plug assembly tip; and jack tip.
