Functional Description
The tactical local area network (taclan)non-secure internet protocol route (nipr) segment kit, or n-segment kit, is a sub-set of the full nsn: 5810-01-518-7269 and c2 nsn: 5895-01-559-8750 taclan suites of equipment. When properly configured and connected to the dod nipr network domain, the n-segment kit it can extend nipr network capability to tactical units at deployed locations. Typically, it is transported to remote forward bases to establish local and/or wide area networks, and to provide common user and special purpose software applications
