Astis widely distributed with high concentrations in the heart, liver, skeletal muscle, and kidney. Damage or disease to any of these tissues such as myocardial infarction, viral hepatitis, liver necrosis, cirrhosis and muscular dystrophy may result in raised serum levels of ast. The reagent is suitable for manual use or on automated clinical chemistry analyzers. Applications for a wide range of automated analyzers are available on request.
