Functional Description
Required to spot weld replacement honeycomb air seals on a 4th stage turbine air sealing ring segment to retain it in place during a braze cycle. Fixture is a commercial standard coper electode modified by machining special grooved steps that accept the outer radial diameter profile of the ring segment. Fixture (electrode) provides full electrical contact to the outer shroud during resistance weld operation. Fixture supplements standard welding equipment
