Functional Description
Required to spot weld replacement honeycomb air seals on a 3rd stage turbine air sealing ring segment to retain it in place during a braze cycle. Fixture is a commercial standard copper electode modified by machinging special grooved steps that accept the outer radial diameter profile of the ring segment. Fixture (electrode provides full electrical contact to the outer shroud during resistance weld operation. Fixture supplements standard welding equipment
