Functional Description
Required to spot weld replacement honeycomb air seals on 3rd stageturbine air sealing ring segment to retain it in place during a braze cycle. Fixture is a commercial standard copper electrode modified by machining sopecail grooved steps that accept the outer radial diameter profile of the ring segment. Fixture (electrode) provides full electrical contact to the outer shroud during resistance weld operation. Fixture supplements standard welding equipment
