Functional Description
Erequired to spot weld replacement honeycomb air seals on 7th stage compressor stator segments to retain them in place during a braze cycle. Fixture is a commercial standard copper electrode modified by machining special grooved steps that accept the radial outer diameter profile of a stator segment. Fixture (electrode)provides full electrical contact to the outer shroud during resistance weld operation. Fixture supplements standard welding equipment
