Utilized primarily for command and control of remote vehicles; operating with ground-based c-band tracking radars as a part of the dtcs, this is the rf unit of the air target group set (atgs); provides airborne portion of the up and downlinks used to control both fullscale and subscale targets, drones, and other unmanned vehicles, both sea and airborne; also simultaneously provides the range safety tracking function
