The commercial helm pumps are designed wwith a stainless steel shaft and heavy duty shaft seal and wiper. This new shshaft and seal help protect the helm pump from the abrasive effects of sediment that is brought on board by the operator handling traps or pots.

Properties:

A positive displacement device which utilizes the reciprocating motion of a multiple number of parallel pistons arranged axially in a cylinder barrel as a means of transferring a liquid from one place to another. The pistons are actuated by revolving the cylinder barrel at an angle to the drive shaft axis or by a tilting box when the cylinder barrel revolves on the drive shaft. The piston displacement may be fixed or variable. It is designed to be driven by a prime mover which is not an integral part of the pump.
