Properties:

An item solid or split into halves, having a threaded or unthreaded hole for the purpose of connecting or retaining a pipe, tube, or hose fitting. The face of the flange may be smooth, grooved, or serrated and may be drilled for connecting bolts or studs. If the item is unthreaded, the pipe or tube may be retained by welding, brazing, compression, or the like. Excludes flange, pipe, blind; ferrule, grooved clamp coupling; and adapter (as modified).
