Hud is a wra in the av-8b, information produced by the display computer is optically projected by the hud's electronic and optics into the pilot's forward field of view (fov). The internal optics of the hud are contained within the optical cavity of the hud. Moisture in the optical cavity can cause the optical parts inside to fog over. Moisture can enter this cavity when either the desiccant container or thestand-by sight is removed.
