Automatic defibrillator aed with provisioning; color egc display; includes: nonrechargeable battery, hard case containing defibrillator, adult pads and pediatric pads; the aed is a portable electronic device that automatically diagnoses potentially life-threatening cardiac arrhythmias; it is able to treat them through defibrillation, i.E., the application of electrical therapy to stop ventricular fibrillation, that in turn allows the heart to re-establish an effective rhythm; the aed, as a medical device, will be supported by the existing army medical department (amedd) logistics system and maintained with standard tools and test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment (tmde); operator and maintainer tasks will be identified in approved technical manuals or commercial equivalent publications; the operator will perform operator checks and services on the aed; field-level maintenance will be performed by biomedical equipment specialist
