4 each direct current thruster motors - 2 each stern/2 each bow; each motor is shunt-wound vertically mounted; class b or f insulated; totally enclosed; uses double tube type air to sea water heat exchangers for cooling; thruster motor comes equipped with a fixed halon 1301 fire extinguishing system and is piped into each motor enclosure for use in fire fighting; no silicone materials of any type are used in the construction of thruster motors; applicable to t-arc 7 class ship
