The an/vas-5b is a compact, lightweight, uncooled, passive, thermal imaging system for use on a variety of army vehicles. The an/vas-5 (v)5 will provide enhanced visibility during periods of darkness or degraded visibility for the vehicle operation and crew. The sensor assembly (receiver, infared) houses the optics and electronics that detect and process the imagery for display on the control-display, optoelectronics module. Control of the system is also provided through the display module.
