Properties:

A device designed to detect the presence of predetermined amounts of smoke, dust, and the like, within the measuring area. The presence of any of these substances causes a change in the output signal of the device, which relays a warning message back to a central panel. The device itself does not provide any audible or visible output, or analyze chemical content. Excludes alarm, smoke, automatic.
