An oval shaped, hinged wooden block constructed to encircle and slide along a hawser (fiber rope) through a hole running through the block from end to end. It has two lever type cutting blades operated by force exerted in a bridle line attached to the eyes of each lever. Also equipped with becket spliced to holes in the block and attached to whipline for hauling along hawser and recovery of cutter.
