Performs 8 basic functions; 1-detects the link sync pattern in the mdm 4880 bit data block; 2-replaces the received network sync pattern with a guaranteed network sync pattern; 3-performs check of sync pattern versus predetermined 4-bit, switch selected, error tolerance; 4-performs a polynomial check on the data block; 5-provides various decoded signals to the other logic cardsin the card cage; 6-provides master reset and power-on reset signals for the data path logic cards; 7-provides data and clock drivers; 8-delays the transfer of data to the output terminal unit to compensate for processing delays inother logic cards
