Special Features:

Assembly -51a (mod) is modified from dwg by viton o-rings iaw mil-r-83248; by socket weld tailpieces iaw mil-c-15762; by socket weld bore breakedge/chamfer not to exceed .010; and by waterway bore breakedge/chamfer not to exceed .0625. These valves are for use in firemain, steam supply and service steam. Similar to nsn 4820-01-481-4583 but has different end connections and material for o-rings.

The flow is controlled by the action of a stem which lifts the disk perpendicularly off the center axis of its seat. The stem is at a 90 degree (1.5708 radians) angle to axis of flow. Excludes valve, stop-check; cock, shutoff, screw stem; and valve, solenoid.
