Components include a slotted fitting and u-shaped clip, each attached to one end of a flat steel strip; the fitting fits on and holds the inside latch handle of the ditching hatch. The clip fits over the hand grip handle and is secured to the handle by a quick release pin thus preventing unauthorized access from outside; nomenclature describes item as "lock aft ditching"
