Properties:

An item designed to be substituted for an electron tube while its associated circuits are under alignment or test. It is similar to its operating counterpart inasmuch as its mounting facilities and conducting surfaces are identical. The specific purpose of the item is to make the normal interconnections between the contacts of the engaging electron tube socket without providing any of the additional functions commonly attributed to an electron tube.
